Having Fun In The Studio

For years, I have enjoyed doing recording sessions for my personal projects as well as leads and back-up vocals for other artists. Actually, I find great pleasure in sculpting a tune  and/or adding harmonies. Because Carl and I have been on the road so much in recent years, I haven't had time to do as much session work in the studio. However, it seems God is providing opportunity to pursue this passion again. While Carl engineers, I enjoy taking my time to match the style of an artist … [Read more...]

The Lost Art of Conversation

THE LOST ART OF CONVERSATION By Leann Albrecht In the beginning, God created the universe by the spoken word. The book of Genesis recounts those first moments. “And over the darkness God said, “Let there be light” and there was light.” After He finished His exquisite expanse of earth and sky, He added one more living form called “man.”  Adam and Eve were created to have friendship with God and He conversed with them in the Garden of Eden. We are creatures designed to be able to speak, … [Read more...]

Broccoli Raisin Salad

It's always important to keep a good amount of antioxidant foods in our diet.  Here is a tasty way to make broccoli take center stage on your table. Even my cat Emma likes the "green". Letting Go Of The Things You Can’t Control

This is the message I gave on a topic that affects men and women alike at Southview Community Church in Spring Hill, TN The theme was taken from the chapter "The Quest For Motherhood" from my book "Screaming On The Inside." [youtube]WyQmSpUclrs[/youtube] Here are some comments about the video: An e-mail sent to Carl - I listened to Leann's Mother's Day message and what a beautiful testimony to spiritual motherhood.  I didn't realize you went through such trying times.  That's so … [Read more...]

Music – It’s A Powerful Thing

Music - It's A Powerful Thing By Leann Albrecht I am often amazed at how much music affects the way I feel in any given setting. I was shopping with my friend, Linda, recently. As we wondered through the aisles of clothing, I was conscious of feeling negative and dark. When I took a minute to analyze the source of irritation, I realized it was the music the store was playing. The song was from the 70’s…a time in my life that was very unsettled…a time when I was young and desperately … [Read more...]

Slaw With Red Peppers and Almonds

This has become my favorite coleslaw because it's a kick up in flavor dimension from traditional recipes. I often enjoy serving it in my grandmother's crockery. Prepare in large bowl: 1 head of cabbage (thinly sliced) or 1 bag of prepared slaw from the grocery store 1 large red bell pepper (finely chopped) 2-3 fresh green onions (finely chopped) 1 cup fresh cilantro (chopped) In dry skillet heat: I cup sliced or slivered almonds - toast until lightly browned (about 3-4 … [Read more...]
