The Power of Prayer

[youtube]infQZO5-f_0[/youtube]    The Power of Prayer (an excerpt from The Well of Nashville) By Leann Albrecht Prayer is simply conversation with God. Ephesians 6:18  At all times, pray by the power of the Spirit. Pray all kinds of prayers. Be watchful, so that you can pray. Always keep on praying for all of God’s people. The Apostle Paul taught in great depth about ALL KINDS of prayer. There is a time to pray with our understanding; with our mind - being led by the Holy … [Read more...]

Chocolate Meringue Pie

My Grandmother, Edith Sims, was a great cook and pie maker.  I remember watching her roll out the crust and assemble the filling many times as a child. In fact, she made them so frequently that she could have one in the oven faster than you could drive to town and buy one. When visiting Grandpa and Grandma Sims, I looked forward to her meals which were always followed by some delicious dessert...many times one of her "scratch" pies. In fact, I always wanted a second piece but rarely got one … [Read more...]

Are You Tired And Worn Out?

ARE YOU TIRED AND WORN OUT? By Leann Albrecht One Tuesday morning I was spending time with the Lord, inquiring of Him as to what encouragement He wanted me to bring to The Well that evening. Emphatically the Lord responded and said, “My people need rest!” It took me by surprise at first but then as I reflected on my own state of well-being, those words resonated within me. Even I was tired and needed rest!! The Message is a great translation that perfectly … [Read more...]

Love and Faithfulness – Song from Psalm 92

One of the things I still enjoy is singing leads on recording sessions. Mark Baldwin just finished producing a project called I WILL BLESS THE LORD - A Journey of Prayer and Praise. I was honored when he  asked me to sing several of the songs. Mark is not only an amazing minstrel but he did an excellent job writing all the songs (along with King David), arranging, playing on and producing it. Additional players were Jason Webb on keys, Gary Lunn on bass and Ken Lewis on drums and … [Read more...]

Turkey Meatloaf – Low Carb

From time to time, I cut back on carbs to drop a few pounds. One day, I decided to try making a meatloaf without the oatmeal or bread crumb fillers that spike up the carbohydrates. I was so pleased with how this recipe turned out, I wanted to share it. It takes about 5 minutes to assemble, is juicy and is a real "comfort" food. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do. Turkey Meatloaf - Low Carb By Leann Albrecht 1.5 pounds of ground turkey meat 1/2 cup dried onion flakes 1/4 … [Read more...]

Spiced Butter Over Winter Squash

Winter Squash is a vegetable that is readily available this time of year in most grocery stores. I often like it roasted plainly with olive oil, however, it's nice to spice it up with this easy butter drizzle from time to time. One large winter squash - use any kind - acorn, butternut, etc. Slice into 1/2 inch slices and spoon out any seeds Lay flat on cookie sheet Brush top with olive oil to keep them from drying out as they bake. Bake at 375 degree for 20 -30 … [Read more...]
